Trauma Informed Care training provides an overview of trauma for teachers who have students in their classrooms who have experienced trauma. The training will assist in defining trauma and will explore how the exposure of adversities in childhood has a direct impact on the lives of youth, their families, and their overall environment. The presentation focuses on identifying different types of trauma, understanding reactions to trauma; exploring consequences of trauma exposure; and learning about the impact of trauma on the biological and psychosocial development of youth. Trauma-informed strategies and tools that can be used in the classroom will be discussed throughout this training.
