This session will introduce educators to the National Equity Project and the Stanford d.school’s K-12 Lab equity-centered design thinking process, Liberatory Design, as a tool for innovative practices. We will dive into how empathy can lead to more impactful, innovative, and equitable solutions. Teams will explore how to engage in the Liberatory Design Thinking process with an equity lens and reflective process to drive innovation. Participants will review the process, protocols, activities, and mindsets to set aside biases and assumptions when creating impactful solutions. We will explore how schools are creating a culture of teacher-led creative leadership to design “hacks,” built on research-based practices that lead to
Deeper Learning.
